Some nice trout in the middle of Winter. It was 18 degrees outside. Thank goodness trout eat midges all year round. Most midge nymphs will allow you to catch trout in the Winter. I did not expect to catch the two big Browns, so I was using my Tenkara USA Iwana with 12.5′ of 3.5 level line and 3′ of tippet and it did just fine. Tenkara fly fishing in Winter is just awesome. Beautiful scenery, no one on the river and eager fish.
